Gym Class!

Joey has been continuing in his weekly gym class and loves it. His new friend, Adey just enrolled in the class and the two boys have a great time together.

Joey is Walking!

Year Two...

So Joey is now one and it feels like he's growing up so fast. Last week, he saw the pediatrician for his one-year check-up and he weighed 23 lbs, 9 oz. That means that he gained about 16 1/2 lbs this year! Wow! He's currently in the 50-60th percentile for his weight and is in the 90th percentile for his height as he's 31 1/2 inches tall. The pediatrician said that Joey is healthy, tall, and progressing well. She was impressed with his vocabulary which currently includes the words ball, bye, phone, spoon, book, and bear.

Yesterday, we went to the shoe store with our new friends, Whitney and Adey and Joey got his first pair of real shoes. They are adorable and he actually likes wearing them. Joey is also completely weaned from nursing and is drinking regular whole milk. Another big milestone happens this weekend when Joey will stay with his grandparents for two nights while his mom and dad travel to New Jersey for a wedding. It will be Joey's first night away from Mom. We think he'll probably handle it better than Mom! We're so proud of our little guy and all of his growing. Everyone says that kids grow up fast and it's definitely true!

Birthday Party!

Joey had an awesome birthday! Nanny, Poppy, Rachel, Jonda and Jac came over around noon and everyone had Runza--Joey's favorite. Then we watched the Nebraska football game and the Huskers won! Joey and Jac took naps and then it was time for cake. Joey wasn't sure what to think of cake--he'd rather eat french fries. But he had fun decorating his high chair. Joey opened lots of great presents and had fun experimenting with Nanny.

Birthday: A Preview...

Joey's birthday is tomorrow! Everyone is excited to celebrate with him and we couldn't help but give Joey a preview of things to come by showing him his awesome Brobee birthday cake in advance. For those who don't know, Brobee is a character from Joey's favorite show, "Yo Gabba Gabba". One of Joey's mom's friends made the cake and it turned out so well! It is perfect and it looks delicious. Joey loves it already and is very excited about this whole birthday thing.

Fun with Jac

Joey's cousin Jac and his aunts, Rachel and Jonda are in town for Joey's birthday. Today, the cousins had fun playing together at the Children's Museum. Joey was trying to introduce Jac to his favorite foods as well.

Enjoying a Smoothie...

Joey loves frozen fruit smoothies which is funny because he hates any type of ice cream. There is a yummy smoothie place in Omaha and he likes sipping his smoothie while sitting on a bench in front of the store, watching the cars and buses.
