Joey just returned from celebrating his second Christmas here in Nebraska. Because a blizzard coincided with the holiday, we drove down to Lincoln and spent three days staying with Joey's grandparents, Nanny and Poppy. Joey had a great Christmas and it was fun to watch him open and play with his presents. Here are some pictures of him: playing with a new ball popper toy, carrying around a new shirt in his mouth like a puppy, enjoying a ride on his new bee toy, and enjoying Christmas with Nanny and Poppy.
Joey had his 15 month check-up at the doctor this morning. Everything went well: Joey is now 25 lbs and 31 1/2 inches tall. He wanted to demonstrate his climbing skills for the pediatrician by climbing on her step stool.
Joey went on a play date this morning to a new gym/tumbling center. He loved the trampoline. The older boys kept tackling Joey and he laughed and laughed.
We just returned from our week in California and Joey wanted to share his highlights from the vacation...
It was a great trip filled with lots of exciting family adventures. Joey had fun playing in the sand at the beach in Santa Monica, spending time with his cousins, Alexander and Tara, and getting spoiled by his grandparents. He also got his first haircut while we were there! Mommy thought his curls were getting a little out of control and got tired of everyone assuming that Joey is a girl, so we bit the bullet and got a trim.
Joey and his parents are headed to California tomorrow to spend some time with friends and family and to celebrate Thanksgiving. Here is Joey helping me pack. He insisted on sitting on top of the suitcase which made it a little difficult to accomplish much packing. We'll be away for about a week, so we'll see you when we return!
Joey's music teacher asked everyone to wear their Halloween costumes to class this morning. Joey is going to be a turtle. He looked very cute in his costume and is getting very excited for Halloween!
Today was Joey's dad's birthday and it was a fun day. Nanny and Poppy visited and took us all out for dinner. But before dinner, the boys did some fall bulb planting. Joey was very helpful. Joey is convinced that he has the most awesome dad ever. He hopes his dad had a very happy birthday!
When we arrived home from the library this morning, Joey insisted on holding the keys. I wasn't sure what he was planning, but as soon as I handed them over, he attempted to unlock the door. I thought he was pretty clever and so did he!
Welcome to our family's first blog! We hope this will keep everyone (both near and far) updated about little Joseph and his adventures. Joey's a busy guy, but we'll try to keep this updated frequently.
