Santa Came!

Joey is celebrating his first Christmas today and Santa was very good to him. He woke up wearing his adorable Santa Baby outfit from his friend Cori and has had so much fun opening his presents. Joey is lucky to have so many generous friends and family who love him so much! Santa brought him a rain forest Jumparoo and he already loves it.

Seeing Old Friends

Joey is enjoying his time in Nebraska. The other day we had lunch with one of Mom's good friends from high school, Carolyn Zook. She's a regular reader and commenter and we loved seeing her and introducing Joey.

Joey's Nebraska Adventure

Joey will be spending the next eight weeks in Nebraska.  We'll be there for Christmas and then Joey and his mom will stay while his dad does a rotation at St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis.  Our blogging may be a little sporadic until we figure out the computer at Joey's grandparents house, but we'll be sure to post lots of pictures of Joey's first Christmas and his first New Year's Eve soon.  Joey was traveling so much recently that he didn't send out holiday cards this year.  He'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Don't Mess With Texas...Or With Joey!

Joey spent the weekend in Houston, Texas where he met his great-grandparents for the first time.  Everyone had a blast!  Joey enjoyed singing and playing with his great-grandparents and even shared a special evening alone with them.  Again, he was a wonderful traveler--he's getting to be a pro!

Everyone loves Joey.  Here, three waitresses from a restaurant entertained him while Mom and Dad ate breakfast.  Quite the ladies man!

Three Months Old!

Okay, so Joey really turns three months old tomorrow, but I had to post this a day early.  This afternoon we are all flying to Houston, Texas where Joey's dad will have another job interview and Joey will meet his great-grandparents.  We can't believe Joey has been with us for three months already.  He's doing great.  In this picture you can see his little belly--we think he's going through a growth spurt right now.  We're hoping that explains why he's been getting up every two hours to eat at night anyway!

A Lazy Morning

It's a rainy morning here in Baltimore.  Joey just wanted to sit on the couch in his pj's and watch television while his mom did the laundry.  Already a typical man.

Such a Sweet Face

Not Interested

At our new moms/ new babies group this morning, one of the other babies (an older woman no less) kept flirting with Joey.  She kept grabbing his hand, smiling at him, and giving him kisses.  Joey kept backing up from her and turning away.

Joey Loves a Parade

Joey is in Nebraska right now. His dad had a job interview and Joey has been visiting his grandparents. Today he went to the Star City Parade in Lincoln where he saw lots of balloons, bands, and clowns. So fun!

Fun With the Mobile

Joey likes to stare at the mobile above his crib.  He loves to watch as the fish go around.  He kicks and waves his arms in amusement for a good half hour.  Simple pleasures...

Joey's First Trip

Our first trip with Joey was a big success!  We flew to Los Angeles last Monday and Joey was a great traveler.  He liked being in the airports and watching the other travelers and he behaved very well on the flights.  Joey loved meeting his Los Angeles relatives and can't wait to visit again soon.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed celebrating with so many loved ones.  We found this holiday to be especially poignant as we realize how much we have to be grateful for this year.   Here are some pictures from the week...

Joey's grandmother and grandfather...

Joey's aunt, Maryam...
Joey's uncle, Ahmad...
Joey's cousins, Alexander and Tara...

Dad has an interview in Nebraska later this week so Joey leaves for his second trip on Wednesday.  Such a jet setter!

Goin' Away

Joey is about to embark on several weeks of travel.  Tomorrow we set off for Los Angeles where Joey will meet his grandparents for the first time.  We are all so excited for our week and to spend Thanksgiving with Dad's family.  Joey is especially excited for his first airplane ride!  We won't be able to post any blog entries this week, so check us out next week for cute new pictures!  And Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers.

Soothing Joey

We've learned that Joey finds loud noises very soothing.  Within seconds of hearing a hair dryer, heater, kitchen fan, or truck, he quiets down.  We fear our neighbors might think we're a little odd with all the noise we're generating, but anything for the Joe man!

Missing Nanny and Poppy

Joey's Nanny and Poppy from Nebraska visited this weekend.  Joey had a great time playing and loved all the attention.  Joey was so sad to see them go and is very excited to see them again in just a couple of weeks!

Joey's DC Hotel Adventure

Dad had an interview in the DC area on Friday, so we all stayed in DC Thursday night.  It was Joey's first night in a hotel.  On Thursday evening, our friend Cori and her parents watched Joey while Mommy and Daddy went to dinner with someone from the practice.  Joey had so much fun with his new friends and had his first experience with doggies!  He slept so well Thursday night and was adorable Friday morning playing in the king-sized bed...

Staring at the headboard...
Playing in the sheets...
Comfy pillows...
Such a ham...
