Joey attended the Nebraska State Fair with his parents and Nanny and Poppy today. It was great fun. He loved seeing the animals: the poultry were his favorites. He also loved riding the carousel and watching the bands. As usual, he didn't love the ice cream.
While dining out last night, Joey grabbed a decorative radish off of my plate and would not let go. He proceeded to eat it like an apple, and while there were a few funny looks, he polished off most of it. Who would have thought he'd like radishes?
Joey had a tea party this afternoon. He set up some of his favorite stuffed animals and fed them cheerios. Everyone enjoyed the party and had a lovely time.
Joey's friends Zoe and Marley came to visit today and Joey had a blast. He loved the attention and hanging out with the older kids. He even let Marley do his hair.
Joey is a typical boy: very curious and adventurous and into everything. His latest fascination is the bathroom: he loves flushing the toilet and is obsessed with toilet paper. He enjoys unrolling the toilet paper, tearing it into a million pieces, and dragging it around. Sometimes it gets stuck to his feet. I find bits of toilet paper everywhere.
It was another beautiful summer evening here in Omaha and the Mirmiran family had a fun outing. We went to dinner and then to an amphitheater that features an outdoor concert series each Saturday night throughout the summer. Tonight's featured band was none other than D'Funk. For those of our readers from Lincoln, you might recognize D'Funk by their lead performer, Eddie Brown, a high school classmate of Joey's mom. Joey had fun dancing and visiting with the other fans, but he loved playing with the puppies most of all.
Welcome to our family's first blog! We hope this will keep everyone (both near and far) updated about little Joseph and his adventures. Joey's a busy guy, but we'll try to keep this updated frequently.
